3rd edition

By Edward Levinson
Introduction by Robert H. Zieger
ILR Press

First published in 1938 and reprinted in 1956, Labor on the March documents the division between the American Federation of Labor and the Committee for Industrial Organization. In his introduction to the 1956 edition, Walter P. Reuther suggested that Labor on the March was the best book to “help people understand how the present came about and what the sources of today’s tensions and events are” in the labor movement. Over a generation later, that sense of history has even greater significance to a beleaguered labor movement.
